Charged with conspiracy to commit murder

One male allegedly entered the victim’s residence unlawfully, took her cell phone and threatened to kill her. However, the victim convinced the males to leave without hurting her.

Chrys Tremblay, a 45-year-old resident of Red Deer, Alta., has been charged with several offences, including conspiracy to commit murder, forcible confinement, being unlawfully at large in a dwelling house, uttering threats against a person, and failing to comply with probation order.

Tremblay was arrested on May 10 in Red Deer with the assistance of the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Southern Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team.
Tremblay is currently on a conditional sentence order and will be brought back to court to face the allegation of the CSO breach.

 

Chad Wickett

Chad Wickett, a 31-year-old resident of Red Deer, Alta., has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, as well as weapons possession contrary to order, unauthorized possession of a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, and failing to comply with a release order.

Wickett’s location is currently unknown, and warrants have been issued for his arrest for the noted charges. Wickett is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach. Please call 911 immediately.

Three arrested
Vegreville RCMP executed three search warrants with the help of surrounding detachments on May 9 to target illegal substance trafficking in the Vegreville and Two Hills area.

The search resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, cash and prohibited weapons at one property in the County of Two Hills, one home in the Town of Vegreville and one business within the Town of Vegreville.

Three individuals have been charged in connection with the investigation.

Bradley Johnson, a 55-year-old male from Stettler, has been charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of unstamped tobacco and possession of prohibited weapons.

Mark Parson, a 55-year-old male from Vegreville, is facing charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of unstamped tobacco and possession of prohibited weapons.

Dale Sawchuk, a 54-year-old male from Vegreville, is facing a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking. All three suspects are scheduled to make their first court appearance at the Vegreville Court of Justice on July 17.

Drumheller Penitentiary reported illicit drone activity near their facility on March 26 as well as an unknown person in the area.

As this person was being approached, they fled the scene, however, left behind a backpack. The backpack contained the following: 141 grams of meth, 32 grams of hash oil, a scale, two cell phones and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

On May 10, 2023, an RCMP operation led by the Drumheller RCMP General Investigation Section, resulted in two separate search warrants being executed in relation to this investigation, one in Rosedale and one in Calgary.

As a result of the search warrants, the following was seized: three drones, four cell phones, a taser, brass knuckles, Canadian currency, suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

John McConnel (41), a resident of Calgary, was arrested and charged with the following: trafficking a controlled substance; possession for the purpose of trafficking; proceeds of crime; and driving while disqualified.

After a judicial interim release hearing, McConnell was released to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on June 9, 2023.

Tawny Markiewicz (31), a resident of Morrin, Alta., and Jeffrey Morse (41), a resident of Drumheller, were arrested during the operation as a result of an observed drug transaction. Both were jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Morse was also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

Markiewicz was released from custody on an undertaking and is to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on June 16, 2023. Morse was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace during a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on May 12, 2023.

RCMP note that additional charges are pending regarding this matter as the investigation continues.
