Laurie Chadney
1951 – 2022

Laurie was born Oct. 25, 1951 in Davidson, Sask. to Gerald and Marie Hill. She was raised alongside her four siblings on the farm where they seeded and harvested crops, raised pigs, chickens and racehorses.

When Laurie and Glen Randle met, they moved to a ranch west of Calgary where she worked a full-time job and helped on the ranch as well. Ranch life was always where Laurie was truly happiest.

Laurie wasn’t sick a day in her life until she began her journey with cancer and it didn’t hold her down until early April.

With the help of her family, her doctor, Dr. Akindipe, Home Care and Palliative Care, Laurie was able to stay home until the end.

Laurie, the ultimate cowgirl, horsewoman and rancher passed away surrounded by comforts of home and family with her beloved sidekick, Jake at her feet on Sun. April 24, 2022 at 70 years of age.

Laurie will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her partner, Glen Randle; children, Dallas Chadney and partner, Andrea, and Jodi Chadney; granddaughter, Cyena Chadney; mother, Marie Hill; siblings, Rocky Hill, Deborah (Ken) Reid, Julie (Ray) Miller and Porter Hill; as well as many extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will take place on Sat. June 4, 2022, 2 p.m. at Spondin Hall, Spondin, Alta. with refreshments and fellowship to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Laurie are gratefully received by your local SPCA or animal shelter as we all know her passion to care for these.

Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.coronationfuneralhome.ca. Arrangements in care of Coronation Funeral Home, Coronation, Alta. Phone: 403.578.2928.
