CFR Performance #4 Recap

Zeke Thurston of Big Valley on his first ride of the night, Performance 4. ECA Review/Terri Huxley

Although no East Central based rodeo athletes claimed a day buckle, there was plenty of competition to keep everyone on their toes.

In Bareback, Orin Larsen of Inglis, MB. topped out at 90 points, taking first place.

Carbon’s Cole Goodine made a decent ride at 76 points with an incredible tuck and roll dismount.

Clint Laye of Cadogan was in the top five, claiming 85.5 points.

As for Jacob Stemo of Bashaw, he made an identical score as Laye.

In Steer Wrestling, Curtis Cassidy of Donalda made no time to add to the board but brother Cody was able to draw 4.1 seconds, a tie for fifth place.

Scott Guenther of Provost was a mere 4 milliseconds away from sealing his second win of the week by getting a time of 3.8 seconds.

Wainwright’s Ty Miller followed suit with a time of 3.9 seconds.

Brendan Laye of Consort had a ten-second penalty on his run, ending up with 13.1 seconds.

In Saddle Bronc, Zeke Thurston got on the board at 79 points but was offered a reride. This decision paid off as his second ride garnered him 85.5 points placing him second in the night’s standings.

In Tie Down Roping, the Smith brothers of Wimborne represented well. Blair Smith got 8.4 seconds while Shane Smith got 11.5 seconds.

In Bull Riding, Lonnie West of Cadogan was bucked off for the fifth time this week. Meeting Creek’s Garrett Green was bucked off as well after a three-night streak.
