Beverley A. Cernak
June 2, 1937 – April 1, 2023

The family of Beverley Cernak (nee Taylor) announce her peaceful passing on April 1, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Beverley was born on June 2, 1937 in Hanna, Alta. and grew up on a farm north of Youngstown, Alta. She completed high school in Youngstown and graduated from secretarial school in Hanna.

Bev then moved to Calgary where she lived and worked for a few years before travelling and working in Vancouver, B.C., Portland, OR, Los Angeles, CA, and Sitka, Alaska.

Beverley married Joseph (Joe) Cernak on Feb. 22, 1975 and lived in the community of Whitehorn in Calgary for many years.

Beverley is survived by her sister, Thelma Flemmer, and brothers Lyle (Sheila) Taylor and Lavern Taylor.

Her memory will be cherished by her nieces and nephews and their families. Beverley will also be greatly missed by her lifelong friends, Marlene, Gloria, Bernetha, and Shirley.

Beverley was predeceased by her husband, Joe Cernak, parents Charlie and Lena Taylor, sister Irene Jones, brothers-in-law Ed Jones and Lloyd Flemmer, and nephews Troy Flemmer and Ron Berreth.

The family would like to thank the staff at Newport Harbour Care Centre for their excellent care of Beverley in her final years.

Funeral services were held on May 6, 2023 at 12 noon at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1022 3 Street West, Hanna.

Interment took place at the Hanna Cemetery.

Donations in Beverley’s memory may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
