Castor Winterfest 2023 had 22 entries this year for the chili cookoff including four entries from Gus Wetter School. During the event on Sat. Feb. 11 Elizabeth Webber and Aislyn Holland served the four different chili’s made by Gus Wetter’s Foods class. Later in the day, the winners of the chili cookoff were announced for both the blind judging and the people’s choice. The winners for the blind judging were Amanda Bateman, CJ’s Canteen and Gus Wetter School Team One ‘The Meat Munchers.’ The people’s choice for best chili of the day went to Gus Wetter School Team Four ‘The Snailz.’

Snow sculptures could be found all over the community of Castor including the sculpture of the mare done by The Yard Guys for Winterfest.
