Caseley team heads to provincial curling playdowns

The Caseley team with Heather Caseley of Coronation skipping,  Barb Wilfort, third of Stettler, Wendy Long, second of Delburne and Shelley Bolin, lead of Red Deer, won the Southern Alberta Senior Women’s Curling Playdowns January 27 – 30 in Calgary.
They will now compete in the Alberta Senior Women’s Provincial Playdowns in Dawson Creek, BC Feb. 13 – 19. ECA Review/Submitted.

The Caseley team, sponsored by Wilfort Construction Products Inc., won at the Southern Alberta Senior Women’s Curling Playdowns Jan. 27 – 30 which was held in Calgary.
They will now go to Dawson Creek, BC, Feb. 13 – 19 to compete in the Alberta Senior Women’s Provincial Playdowns.
Dawson Creek is considered part of the Peace Curling District of Alberta.
There will be eight teams competing which includes three winners from both the Southern Alberta Curling Association Senior Women’s Playdowns and the Northern Alberta Curling Association Senior Women’s Playdowns and two winners from the Peace Curling Association.
To be eligible to compete in Seniors you must be 50 years old, each player has to be a member of a curling club that is affiliated with one of the Alberta Curling Associations.
The Caseley team are members of the Red Deer Curling Club. The team has done a lot of hard work preparing for playdowns.
They competed in six bonspiels travelling as far north to Edmonton and south to Coaldale as well as league play and scheduled practices.
“This is definitely a dream come true for all of us,” said Caseley. “We are very excited to be competing at Provincials in Dawson Creek.”
