Jack Carlson, a devoted husband, father and friend passed away on Jan. 27, 2024 at the age of 85 years. He was born on Aug. 31, 1938 in Winnipeg, Man. to Oscar and Edith Carlson, the youngest of their eight children.
Jack embarked on a successful career as a salesman, representing various companies over the years.
In 1964, he and his wife Ethel moved to Los Angeles where he worked for Beachnut. After a period in the U.S., they returned to Canada. In 1969, Jack settled in Saskatoon, Sask. where he raised his four children and held positions at Robin Hood, Duncalfe Furniture, G&G, and most recently, Grant Brothers.
In 1986, Jack found love again and married his second wife, Sally. Together, they became active members of the community at Poplar Beach, Wakaw, fostering enduring friendships and enjoying the serenity of their cabin.
Jack was also a dedicated member of the Saskatoon Golf & Country Club for over 30 years, reflecting his passion for golf.
Known for his love of sports, Jack was an avid fan of the LA Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
His affection extended to his cherished dogs, Samson, Shane, and Jake, as well as cats KC and Cooper.
Upon retirement, Jack and Sally moved to Stettler, Alta. to be closer to their large family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories. Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Sally; children: Wendy Fick (Cory), Janis Ulrich (Bob), Joanne Carlson and Brad Carlson (Sandra); stepchildren: Barb Koemstedt, Laurie Andrusek (Ron) and Tim Koemstedt.
Also by grandchildren: Shannon, Daylen (Wendy), Jayden, Jenna, Emily (Janis), Sarah, Ryan (Joanne), Avery and Rylan (Brad); great-grandchildren: Ari, Hudson (Shannon), Kylie and Noa (Sarah); as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
Jack was predeceased by parents Oscar and Edith Carlson; brothers: Victor, Bob and Doug and sisters: Ella, Norma, Doreen and Linda.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.
