Busy month for Rumsey-Rowley club

The Rumsey-Rowley 4-H Beef Club has had a busy month.

We had our monthly meeting at my house on February 10, 2020.

We discussed how well our market steers and heifers are going. Ryley, Brady, Dani and myself all attended the Canadian Bull Congress in Camrose at the end of January.

We learned a lot on the grooming and clipping of our steers for show day.

Our club’s public speaking was held February 16 at the Rumsey Hall.

Ryley and Amanda won the Senior Category, Brady won the Intermediate Category and I, Colton won the Junior Category.

We are all advancing to the District Level. District Public Speaking will take place on March 7 at 10 am at the Morrin School.

Please come out and watch us if you are free.

A huge “Thank You” to Jason Calhoun for having our club over to the feedlot on February 17.

We all enjoyed your presentation and learned a lot on the feeding of our steers, low-stress handling/shipping and what to look for in the pens when checking in the am for illness.

What a beautiful new facility for handling the steers and processing when they arrive at the feedlot.

That’s all for now. I will keep you updated on upcoming events and news from our club.
