Betty Louise Bruntlett
1931-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Louise Bruntlett (Stauffer) aged 93 of Sherwood Park, Alta. After a brief stay at Leduc Hospital surrounded by family, Betty passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Betty was born in Stettler, Alta. to Werner and Elfriede Stauffer on Nov. 28, 1931. She attended Manthano, Botha and Stettler schools. Betty went on to secretarial school to become a legal secretary and worked in both Stettler and Edmonton.
She met Mitch Bruntlett at her 16th birthday party and they were married on June 26, 1952 in a garden wedding ceremony on her parent’s farm near Botha, Alta.
Mitch and Betty lived in Alberta in Big Valley, Stettler, Edmonton, Redwater, an acreage near Bruderheim, back to Edmonton in her favourite house, and most recently Summerwood Village in Sherwood Park.
They had five children and Betty was the heart of the family. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by husband of 73 years, Mitch; five children: Chris (Brenda) Bruntlett, Wendy (Warren) Lougheed, Neil Bruntlett, Lori (Robert) MacIsaac and Lisa (Peter) Margiotta; grandchildren: Jennifer Bruntlett, Raj Jaganathan, Amoree Briggs, Bernard Briggs, Ryan Bruntlett, Kristin Petrovic, Sasha Petrovic, Bernard Lougheed, Natalie Lougheed, Brianna Foster, Caileigh MacIsaac, Mathias Jonsson, Kevin MacIsaac, Kira MacIsaac, Ryan Margiotta and Landyn Margiotta.
Also her great-grandchildren: Kyler Bruntlett, McKenzie Briggs, Huxley Briggs, Kippen Briggs, Mirko Petrovic, Tatjana Petrovic, Kane Lougheed, Malia Lougheed, Trista Margiotta and Scarlet Margiotta.
Also sister-in-law Reta Stauffer, as well as nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Betty was predeceased by parents, Werner and Elfriede Stauffer and brother Walter Stauffer.
