Sheila Brown was born May 14, 1934, to Jessie and Robert Merchant in Coronation, Ab.

She had two older brothers; Robert and Don and one younger brother Dale.

Sheila completed all her schooling in Coronation and then went to work in the banks in Coronation and Stettler.

She then had the opportunity to use her clerical skills to work in the hotel industry in such locations as Whitehorse, Bahamas and then finally the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Sheila came home and married Archie Brown of Brownfield, Ab. on Jan. 25, 1963.

Sheila and Archie had five children; Darren, Craig, Jay, Laurie and the Golden Child.

Sheila had many interests throughout her life including sewing, quilting, knitting, gardening and ceramics.

She was involved with the United Church Women and Eastern Star for many years.

Sheila was an accomplished piano player and played for many years at the Brownfield United Church.

She later returned to work with the Credit Union in Coronation after all of her children were in school. She enjoyed her work and friendships formed there.

Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Robert Merchant; her brother Robert and sister-in-law Erma; her brother Don and sister-in-law Margaret and nephew Alan; sister-in-law Pat Merchant; mother-in-law Lottie Brown and brother-in-law Tom Forrest.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Archie; her son Darren and his wife Colleen and their children Amanda and Adam (Ann Marie); her son Craig and his wife Jill and their children Brandon (Kalene) and Daniel; her son Jay and his wife Sita and their children Jessye and Liam; her daughter Laurie Burchell and her husband Jim and their children Mack and Joel; her son Cameron and his wife Candy and their children Erin (Robby) and Dylan; great-grandchildren Kaiden, Tristan, Jaxon and Luka; her brother Dale Merchant; her sister-in-law Frances Forrest; numerous nieces and nephews and her many, many friends.

Services were held at Brownfield Recreation Centre on Jan. 4, 2019 with Rev. Barbara Zimmerman officiating. Musician Linda Kneeland played for the congregational hymns.

Cameron Brown and Laurie Burchell gave loving tributes.

Sheila will be interred in the Coronation Cemetery in the spring on her birthday June 7, 2019.

Family and friends enjoyed fellowship and a luncheon by the Coronation Funeral Committee.
