Breaking News and Request for Public Assistance: Coronation RCMP

The Coronation RCMP have released a media statement in regards to the fire at the Klaus residence in Castor on December 8, 2013. The release states that RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigators believe the fire was set intentionally and have labeled the deaths of Gordon and Monica as a homicide. Though not yet located, investigation by RCMP has suggested that Sandra Klaus has also been labeled the victim of homicide.

In a public appeal the RCMP is seeking assistance in calling tips on the vehicle recovered that is believed to be associated with the incident: a 2003 white GMC Sierra truck associated to the Klaus farm (photo at bottom).

The truck was found abandoned at the intersection of Highway 36 and Township Road 400, in the County of Paintearth. It is believed to have been utilized by those responsible for the murders of Gordon and Monica Klaus to depart the property.

The release requests that anyone out and about in that area on the evening of Saturday, December 8, 2013 view the map provided and the vehicle’s picture and call the RCMP Calgary Major Crimes Unit at 403-699-2655 or Crime Stoppers with any information.
