Howard Arthur Black “Howie”
1956 – 2020

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we share the news that Howie Black passed away.

Howard Arthur Black, known to everyone who knew him and loved him as Howie, was born on March 4, 1956 to Lawrence and Shirley Black.

Howie loved his family and looked forward to any adventure or event for that matter.

It could be as everyday as what was for breakfast the next morning or as big as a trip to Australia as a Scout Venturer.

Howie loved life and brought much joy to everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by brother Barry and his three sons, Darren, Dakota and Wyatt; sister Laurene (Jim Blaney) and her three children Daniel Algar, Kim Cameron (Ryan) and Shannon Algar; and brother Dwain (Lorna) and their children Mark Sandy (Arleen), Duncan and Ashley.

Howie was also the proud great-uncle to Daxon Algar and Harlow Cameron.

As the heavens work in mysterious ways, two new babies joined our family a few days after Howie took his wings to join his Mom and Dad.

We know that two babies were required to fill the hole that Howie leaves behind.

Our beloved Howie died peacefully in the Red Deer Regional Hospital while still being cared for by his second family of staff from his home at Michener Centre.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made in memory of Howie to LG Barnes Camp, a place Howie loved to go since a small child or Special Olympics, something he loved to participate in, or a charity of your choice.
