Participating schools included Wainwright High School (WHS), Provost Public School (PPS), Blessed Sacrament School (BSS), Irma, and Paradise Valley.
The HPS Wildcats won against both Irma and Provost Public School, which earned them a spot in the semi-final.
The semi-final was between Wainwright High School and Hughenden Public School; after four periods a winner was decided. It was Hughenden Public School.
The final game between Hughenden and Blessed Sacrament School (BBS) was a tough fight for the gold title. BSS came out on top, winning by 12 points.
The overall rankings resulted with Wainwright third, Hughenden second, and BSS as the champion.
A member of the Hughenden team had clear thoughts about the event.
“It was a close game; we all played hard. I’d say that the tournament was an overall success for our team,” said Declan Lawrason.
The tournament was a huge success. All the teams worked hard and played exceptionally. And undoubtedly, everyone had loads of fun.
