Clode (Cole) Anderson
Nov. 7, 2001 – Oct. 18, 2024
Clode (Cole) Anderson was born on Nov. 7, 2001 in Red Deer, Alta. In August 2007, he and his brother Delaney (Dustin) moved to Stettler to become part of the loving family of Winston and Elaine McAndrew.
Under the warmth of Winston and Elaine’s care, Clode’s love for sports blossomed. He took on soccer, baseball, hockey and lacrosse and found joy in refereeing and any outdoor activity that kept him moving.
With Winston as his biggest supporter, hardly ever missing a home game, and Elaine’s unwavering encouragement, Clode became a fixture on the field and rink.
In June 2010, Clode attended a ceremony with his family, where he was given the name Sun, reflecting the light and energy he brought into every space.
As Clode approached his teenage years, he was welcomed into the home of Lindsay and Darryl Langan, with Elaine and Winston becoming cherished grandparents. Clode welcomed new siblings, two boys and Hayleigh, and eventually his twin brothers, Colton and Dolton, who joined the family in their older years.
Clode’s athletic interests grew even further. He continued with hockey and lacrosse and developed new passions, from BMX and scooter competitions to football. He embraced skiing and snowboarding, travelling to slopes across British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Alberta with the Langans.
His enthusiasm earned him multiple sports awards, and he enjoyed giving back by helping coach younger athletes.
Adventurous by nature, he loved “rig watch” with Darryl, this was time for target practice, quading and fishing, and playing with the horses and dogs.
He cherished holidays in Manitoba with family.
Known for his love for clothing, Clode relished finding thrift deals with Lindsay and Hayleigh; customizing bikes, scooters and skateboards with his brothers, his bedroom always being a healthy chaos of parts, paint, decals and tools, never without a set of Allen keys in his pocket. He and his brother Delaney were inseparable, both on and off the ice.
Clode is predeceased by his devoted hockey dad, Winston McAndrew, his great-grandfather, Lloyd Shearer, and his younger brother, Dolton Anderson.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his brother Delaney and family, and his extended families: Lindsay, Darryl and Hayleigh Langan; Elaine McAndrew and her children; and Camille Clement and her son Levi.
Clode’s light and spirit will live on in all who knew him, and he will forever be remembered for his boundless energy, kindness, and the joy he brought to those around him.
