The village of Alix, Ab. is the proud recipient of the “Creating Healthy Environments” award for 2015. The purpose of the drive was to become a healthier community, according to Recreation Director CoraLee Brookes.
The youth center kids as well as volunteers worked hard at maintaining and the growing of the gardens and the produce was free for anyone to pick and eat.
The community of Alix displayed gardens in the planters on Main Street as well as herbs in tires which were painted by the youth in Gator Park.
