World of Choices

Drumheller Saint Anthony’s Grade 10 student, Erika Cortez, left, wins a $25 visa gift card handed out by radio show host Jason Blanke, right, at the World Choices event held at the Badlands Community Facility (BCF) in Drumheller, Ab. on Wed. March 13.

High school students from Three Hills, Hanna, Cessford, Youngstown and Drumheller came to the facility with an open mind, most of which discovered a career path they might not have thought of pursuing before.

Junior Achievement puts on the annual event across multiple school districts to give students the opportunity to have open dialogue with people in the industry of their choosing.

Groups of eight sat at a table to listen to a mentor for roughly 10 minutes, asking questions and gaining insight. There were six individual sessions and ‘Be Brave’ was the overall theme of the event.
