Mock two-car collision demonstrates the results of distracted driving

Grade nine students from the Prairie Land Regional Division watch as first responders reacted to a mock two-car collision on Thurs. May 11 involving young people and caused by distracted driving.
High school students played roles in the collision to demonstrate what could happen when safe driving habits are not followed.
The first responders included the fire department, ambulance and police.
The exercise took students through the 911 call, the rescue, triage, the hospital emergency room, followed up by notifying the next of kin of the deceased.
The day included a video, guest speaker, lunch and a recap of what the students witnessed.
