Lorraine Lohr Cathro Publishes Two Books of Short Stories

Lorraine Lohr Cathro, daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Lohr, has published two books of short stories. Her first book, Roots & Adventures: A Prairie Childhood, includes stories from the 1950s and 1960s spent on the farm southwest of Stettler and in the communities of Erskine, Stettler, and Big Valley.  Branching Out: Adventures & Roots is the sequel to her first book and features Lorraine’s recollections from 1970-1995 when she left home, got married, raised a family, and developed a career.
Her books consist of stories and history from all branches of the families of Lorraine and her husband, Doug Cathro. She uses a short story format and conversational tone to bring people and events alive on the page.
Lorraine’s books are available at Stettler Town & Country Museum (403-742-4534), Big Valley Antiques and Collectibles (403-876-2161), from Evelyn and Don Strandquist (403-742-4880), and from the author. For more details, please see http://www.lorrainecathro.com .
