Hardgrass Bronc Match 2017

Wild broncs and tough cowboys met up at the first annual Hardgrass Bronc Match in Pollockville, Ab. on Sat. July 29. Thirty cowboys rode the toughest broncs from the Calgary Stampede Ranch and Big Stone stock contractors.  ECA Review/J.Webster

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A lot of sweat and dollars went into changing up the “mud bog” from previous year’s annual Mud Bog event, into a rodeo arena at Pollockville, Ab. by Berry Creek Ab Society in time for the 1st Annual Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) approved Bronc Match, Sat. July 29. A dance followed the bronc riding with live music by Infinity Outlaws. Thirty cowboys rode with the top eight going to the final buck-off. Berry Creek Ag Society hosted it’s first annual Hardgrass Bronc Match Sat. July 29 at Pollockville, Ab. The event included the annual prairie oyster cook-off with seven teams participating. Charmaine Greer of Brooks helps cook up the oysters for Keith and Heather Finkbeiner who went on to win the competition which has been going for 10 years as the Testicle Festival. ECA Review/J.
