Anderson, David

Written by ECA Review

David Anderson passed away peacefully with his son by his side in Coronation on March 19, 2018 at the age of 82.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Dave was born on Nov. 27, 1935 in Coronation, where he grew up on the family farm just south of town. On July 17, 1959 he married the love of his life, Vivian Jones, and never left far from home while raising their two boys, Darcy and Gilbert.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was playing cards or taking the kids for horseback rides, his love for his family was always shining. Everyone knew just how proud he was of all his kids.
He also took great pride in his garden. He would spend many joyous hours every year tending to his garden and sharing the fruits of his labour with those close to him, often bringing home many ribbons from the county fair.
Whether it was on the oil rigs or on the farm, he always put in a hard day’s work. He was always there to lend a helping hand to a neighbour in need and never had a cross word to say about anyone.
His sense of humour was one of his most defining traits. Although crude at times, Dave was always bringing joy into the lives of others. His smile and sense of humour remained with him up until the moment he passed.
Dave is lovingly remembered by his wife Vivian, son Darcy (Judy), son Gilbert (Darla), grandchildren Michael (Crystal), Andrea (Brad), Calvin (Chelsea), Kayla, Adam, Amy, great grandchildren Alana, Maddyn, Evan, Brendan, step grandchildren Joshua, Brittney (Nick), Larsen, Sean, step great grandchildren Leevye, Lily and Oaklanne.
He is also survived by siblings Mary-Ann, Joan (Harley), Carl (Mary-Lou), Delores, sister-in-law Delores (Roy) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by mother Nancy, father Robert, sister Inga, step-sister Alice, step-brothers Lloyd and Leonard, step-mother, father and mother-in-law Gilbert and Leatha Jones.
